She is a 2006 graduate of East High School and attended Salt Lake Community College. On October 23, 2010, Jamie won the title of Miss Utah USA 2011 and represented the Beehive State at the Miss USA Pageant making it as a semi-finalist in the Top-15 on June 19, 2011.

Jamie is the first Latina/Hispanic to win the title of Miss Utah USA and proudly wears her crown representing the diverse cultures of Utah. During her year as Miss Utah USA, she is continuing her work with “Hang Up Save a Life,” an organization founded after the tragic death of her close friend, Lauren Mulkey, at the hands of a distracted driver. The driver was texting and driving when he ran through a red light hitting Lauren’s car and ending her life. From that day on, Jamie has made it her mission to make drivers aware of the dangers of distracted driving. She has spoken at press conferences and schools throughout the valley teaching students the importance of driving responsibly.
When not keeping busy with her duties as Miss Utah USA and working as a model, Jamie enjoys working out, traveling, giving herself a fabulous manicure and pedicure and eating great food. She is also very close with her family and enjoys spending any extra time she has with them.
